  • Yes, Clear Journey Counseling can assist clients with mental health documentation such as FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act) forms, short-term disability paperwork, and Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters, when clinically appropriate. These services typically require active treatment and a clinical assessment by your therapist. If you're looking for a therapist who can complete FMLA or disability forms, please discuss this with your provider during your session. Additional fees may apply for documentation services.

  • An ESA letter (Emotional Support Animal letter) is a written document from a licensed mental health professional that verifies your need for an emotional support animal due to a mental health condition like anxiety, depression, or PTSD. This letter allows you to request reasonable accommodations for housing under the Fair Housing Act.

At Clear Journey Counseling, we provide ESA letters for clients engaged in ongoing therapy, when clinically appropriate. If you're looking for a licensed therapist in Florida who provides ESA letters, contact us to discuss whether this is the right option for your treatment plan.

  • Yes, therapy is confidential, and your privacy is a top priority at Clear Journey Counseling. As licensed mental health professionals, we follow strict HIPAA guidelines to protect your personal information and ensure that everything you share in therapy remains private.

There are a few legal exceptions to confidentiality, including situations involving:

    • Risk of harm to yourself or others

    • Suspected abuse or neglect of children, elders, or vulnerable adults

    • Court orders or legal requirements

We will review confidentiality policies during your first session and are happy to answer any questions. If you're searching for a confidential therapist in Florida or want to feel safe discussing personal issues in a private therapy setting, we’re here to help.

  • Your first therapy session is a chance for you and your therapist to get to know each other and begin building a trusting relationship. At Clear Journey Counseling, we understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it’s your first time. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can feel heard and supported.

During your initial appointment, your therapist will:

    • Discuss what brings you to therapy

    • Review your personal history, symptoms, and current challenges

    • Talk about your goals for counseling and what you hope to achieve

    • Explain the structure of sessions, confidentiality, and next steps

You don’t need to prepare anything in advance—just come as you are. If you’re feeling nervous, that’s completely normal. Many clients say they feel a sense of relief after the first session.

If you're searching for a comfortable first therapy experience in Florida, or wondering what to expect in counseling for anxiety, depression, or relationship issues, our licensed therapists are here to guide you at your own pace. Contact us today to schedule your first session.
